Every Experience is Unique
Even if you have gone boating before, the chances are good that boating at Lake Winnipesaukee will be a unique experience. Different types of boats provide a different ride, with some being choppier, faster, or more mellow than others. Different weather conditions play a role as well, so it pays attention to take notice of weather patterns in the area and dress for or plan your boating trip accordingly. A small lake in your local area back home will differ greatly from the experience of boating out on Lake Winnipesaukee, which is the largest lake in all of New Hampshire. It can take days or even weeks to explore this beautiful body of water completely.
Lakes are also different from rivers, oceans, and ponds. Not only will navigating these various types of waters provide a unique experience, but the fishing and other activities will vary as well. If you have any questions about New Hampshire boat rentals, make sure to ask when you stop in to make or confirm your registration. If you are a first-time boater and have never operated a boat before, make sure to take a boating safety course, whether it is required or not.
New Hampshire Boating Safety Course
While you don’t have to have a boating license per say to operate a boat in New Hampshire while visiting Lake Winnipesaukee or any of the other magnificent bodies of water in this state, you do need to take a boating safety course to operate a boat that has more than a 25 horsepower (HP) engine. In fact, New Hampshire has a mandatory boating education law that requires everyone 16 years of age or older who operates a motor boat that is 25 HP or more to have a boating education certificate. Certificates are also accepted from other State Agencies that are NASBLA approved, as well as certificates issued by the US Coast Guard Auxillary, US Power Squadron and any unexpired commercial boat licenses from the US Coast Guard or the State of New Hampshire.
When you contact the NH Hole in the Wall to set-up your motor boat rentals in Wolfeboro, be sure to ask about taking an approved boater safety course. You can take it by searching online at the State of New Hampshire website located at www.nh.gov in the Marine Patrol Unit section. You can also take the course in-person. If you are only at Lake Winnipesaukee for a weekend or a few days, you might want to save time and take the course at home first. Make sure to follow the guidelines listed above for accepted certificates to ensure that your boating education certificate will be accepted for use with Lake Winnipesaukee boat rentals.
